Maria is back at home and she was met with two orphan darlings, newborn and age 5, to shake off the dust she never let accumulate in the two years she had to be away! The children were so happy so see her and, after a couple weeks of caring for the new children, she was able to\u00a0 start getting right back on track with her plans. Her son, Moses, and her mom, Abi, who traveled with her to Ghana, were only able to stay and help a short time. Her husband , Pastor Marlon, is now playing ‘catch-up- with his church needs, so she is kept hopping from project to child-crises to project! It is my hope to get there soon and help her get ahead on whatever we can.<\/span><\/p>\n

Until then, we cherish your prayers of strength and encouragement and have prepared a list of updated goals and needs for all to peruse in the contemplation of financial assistance as well. HOW YOU CAN HELP<\/strong><\/a> is also listed in the menu.<\/span><\/p>\n

Maria finally and excitedly left Vienna yesterday to return home to to Ghana, her husband, 70+ children, her loyal crew, and all the excitement that goes with the ongoing construction of their new property – CHRISTIAN LIFE VILLAGE –<\/em> in Sege, just outside of Accra. I look forward to hearing from her, but am resigned to waiting some time for the dust to settle on her return – HOW I WISH to have been part of that<\/em> !<\/strong><\/span>\u2764\ufe0f<\/strong><\/p>\n

Someday soon I plan to join her and be her ‘wingman’ on the setting up of the kindergarten\/orphanage! Meanwhile, we cherish your prayers and donations to keep the children fed and safely housed, the finishing of the new school plans (see ‘PROJECT SEGE’ here), and relieving many of the financial impacts of carrying this worthy ministry\u00a0 – Thank you! \u2764\ufe0f<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Maria reports:\u00a0 “I have some great news on the preparation towards my going back to the kids in October.\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Where to stay was one of the points I prayed for. I would rather not want to move back to the place we had the two years we were in Ghana. One does not want to stretch the kindness of relatives. We now found a place to rent. 4 rooms for 410 Euro. Which is wonderful. But still a step in faith because we both don\u2019t have a staple job in Ghana. But we are trusting on God. VCC has now included us as their missionaries for Ghana. They are giving us 100 Euro every month. That\u2019s amazing. I believe I will find a job in Ghana to take care of the rest or God will make a way. Already I might get a job with a family with an autistic child. We are still negotiating about my Salary.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Then I am hunting and praying for a container we can unfunction into a classroom on the farming area and make a playground around it. God has given a name for the farming area: CHRISTIAN LIFE VILLAGE .<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

There will be a Shelter Home;\u00a0 <\/em><\/strong><\/span>School;\u00a0 <\/em><\/strong><\/span>Farming;\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/span>Children\u2019s Park;\u00a0 <\/em><\/strong><\/span>and an Orphanage very soon.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Already I am working on making the place we will be renting open for orphans available from Fumbisi, the village.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

I pray though God will strengthen you that you will come and see everything. God is able. Our lives are in His hands.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

LadyJaye writes:\u00a0 “The decision had to be made, finally, as to whether I go with Maria to Ghana or not at this time. I felt it was more important for her to have some time with the children and get settled in, letting the dust settle after being gone two years, and without having to deal with any concerns of a guest. So my travel money has been sent\u00a0 to make that transition a bit smoother for her and I will be working on\u00a0 plans to join her possibly in the Spring ’26.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

ALSO, our non-profit MISSION: AOK has just become officially a 501(c)(3) on the IRS list!

\nWe have been able to perform legitimately as one while that waiting period happened; however, now it can be found on the IRS website! LadyJaye\/webmaster writes:\u00a0 <\/em>There is a new page for a specific construction project now in process in Sege, our little community taking shape on donated land on the Accra outskirts. Specific details can be found on that new page, for all who can see the great and ongoing need for prayers and financial assistance; you can’t feed a child once and call it ‘done’! \ud83d\ude2f\ud83d\ude0c<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

~ REMINDER:\u00a0 Maria had taken a position in Vienna, where her mother still lives, sending her wages home to feed the children and further the expansion of housing and schooling. (Otherwise, everything is done as sporadic donations come in.) She has been working at a kindergarten for wages and for their offer to teach her how to run her kindergarten in Accra. It has been hard for her to be away from ‘hands on’ with ‘her children of Africa’ and her vision’s progress, but they have been in the loving care of her husband, Pastor Marlon, and their loyal team. ~<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Meantime, Maria is finishing up her school teaching position in Vienna through the summer and preparing to return to Ghana end of September. It was planned that I would meet her in Vienna, visit with old friends from a previous mission trip, and fly with her to Ghana, as it was deemed safer for both of us to travel together.<\/strong><\/p>\n

However, with so much still needed for the children when she arrives, it seems unconscionable for me to spend $5-6K for flight and travel, when it would do so much more good in her hands upon her arrival; though saddened at the possibility I may not be able to join her, that thought still delights every cell in my body! Take a look at her plans on the new page<\/a> <\/span>and you’ll understand!\ud83d\udc4c<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

With half a century of administrative experience and skills, my\u00a0 excitement and value came at being able to set up the office for our kindergarten and eventually the orphanage. You will see on the new page the beautiful illustrations Maria has mapped out, using her architectural and other degrees she so diligently earned, specifically to the greater quality of her perpetual vision for the children; to fully appreciate this amazing young lady,\u00a0 with the heart of Christ and determination of Mother Theresa, read once again “Our Story” just above on this page!\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Obviously, we are approaching our readers once again with an opportunity to tie on to our wagon, REAPING WITH US, the abundant Joy and other deeply satisfying rewards as you watch these young ones grow and overcome their odds – through your participation. Understandably, there is much need right here in our own country, but the poverty in the USA is quite different from the poverty in a third world country, like Ghana.\u00a0 Maria speaks to this:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

“There is nothing like food stamps in Ghana. That is why we are farming to be able to provide. In Fumbisi, I try to get food for the orphans as I can. Like rice and oil and tinned fish to keep them going. Also I am working doing that for my street girls as God provides.”\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

When I asked what she meant about ‘my street girls,’ I discovered that, even while working full time between the village, the fields, and the Accra shelter, she had branched out yet again in her meager spare time:\u00a0 <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

“<\/b><\/span>One of the mission work I do is going to see the street girls. They are called Kayaye girls. They live on the street. They work as walking carrier bags. That means as people do their shopping they carry the load. The problem is many a times they are raped on the street. And they have no choice but to carry the babies from the rape. These are the girls I am hoping that I can convince one day to leave the street to do farming in our little community of Sege and live a peaceful life. But many are now use to the street and hope to make fast money from there.”<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

As I had reported earlier, Maria had to take another job because the kindergarten she was working at in Vienna had closed for the summer. She is settling in joyfully to her new position, while missing ‘her children of Africa’ and looking forward to her return to Ghana. Maria is still working in Vienna while her husband and team in Ghana continue their work on the donated property and the kindergarten building. But she sends word that the greatest need at this moment in time is for that of a truck or van. <\/span>The one they had\u00a0 for so long had been repaired beyond imagination and finally gave up the ghost! As you can see from the pictures and videos, a vehicle is imperative to their progress! We are counting on all hearts of good will to help us get the funds to send for purchase of one in Accra.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
